After the massive success of Top Gear Live Festival Melbourne in 2011, MotoKinetic were engaged to help with the formation of a new concept for the Top Gear Live franchise, and the standalone “Festival” format was created.
Sydney Motorsport Park was selected as the venue for the first Top Gear Festival, and with only 5 months lead time, we set to work very closely with the promoter (Brand Events) to create a full site floor plan, content concepts, content schedules, plus logistical and staffing support, as well as a venue liaison.
MotoKinetic had a team of 26 staff on site for over a week to produce all facets of the event. With over 75 unique pieces of content happening each day, across 6 different feature areas, it was a non-stop action packed motoring festival with a Top Gear twist.
Attended by over 40,000, festival goers got to see Mark Webber break the outright lap record in the Infinity Red Bull Racing RB7 Formula 1, a V8 Supercar race against a Stunt Plane, along with many other crazy challenges hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, James May, The Stig, Shane Jacobson, and Steve Pizzati.
